Calicut - Wayanad - Nagarahole- Coorg – Madikeri - Mysore - Bangalore
Northern part of Kerala is very different when we compare to South Kerala . Wayanad is also connected with golden triangle of South India which is known as Bangalore Mysore and Ooty.
Wayanady means Vayal Nadu. The village of Paddy fields. Wayand hills are commonly used for sharing borders to Mudumalai in Tamilndu and Bandipur in Karnataka. It has a thick forest which contains Sandal Wood, Teak Wood, Rose wood, Anjili ( Arto Carpus).
Wayanad provides lots of oppertunites for adventure tourism, Trekking to Chembra peak , Meenmutty Waterfalls are most interesting place .
On arrival at Calicut, our representative will receive and accompany to hotel to check-in. Evening is at your pleasure before overnight stay.
After morning breakfast, day long visit starts. To start with, visit Krishna Menon Museum. The man attraction of this Museum is an exclusive wing dedicated to the late V K Krishna Menon, a renowned statesman.
His personal belongings and souvenirs are on display here. Our next place to visit is Pazhassiraja Museum and Art Gallery. This Museum has a special attraction for those who are interested in history and arts.
This Museum is located in Kozhikode, famous for plantation of spices and its trading centre since times immemorial.
In the evening, visit Kozhikode Beach and view the sunset on the beach. The beach has an old lighthouse and two crumbling piers running into the sea to shelter the boats during the British empire.
Back to your for overnight stay.
After breakfast, check out of the hotel for a morning drive from Calicut to Wayanad covering a distance of 80 Kms in 2 hours. On arrival, check- in a resort.
Afternoon is at your leisure to relax or to explore the place of your own suiting your interests before overnight stay.
After breakfast in the morning, proceed on day long visits starting from Lakkidi, the gateway to Wayanad. It is located 700m above sea level at the Thamarasseri Ghat pass with its lofty peaks, numerous streams and green forests.
Next to visit is Pookat lake, a perennial fresh water lake in surroundings of thick green hills. Boating facilities, children’s park, handicrafts and spices emporium and fresh water aquarium are the other tourist attractions here.
Our next destination to visit is Ambalavayal heritage museum at the Ambukuthi foot-hill. It is a unique Museum with a collection artifacts and implements various tribes. Back to the resort for overnight stay.
After morning breakfast, check out of the resort for a drive to Nagarahole National Park - Kabini River Lodge covering a distance of 100 Kms in 2 hours. On arrival, visit Nagarahole National Park and Kabini River Lodge.
Lying on the southern fringes of the Nagarahole National Park, the Kabini River Lodge is a perfect getaway for nature lovers to enjoy the scenic beauty of backwaters of the River Kabini.
Check- in on arrival and rest after lunch, proceed on Wildlife safari in the evening before dinner and overnight stay.
Early in the morning at 5.45 AM, we are out of the Lodge for bird watching in Nagarahole National Park followed by elephant ride and Wildlife safari.
We are back to the lodge around 9.30 AM for breakfast. Relax or take a walk around the backwater area. After evening wildlife Safari, back to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
After morning breakfast, check out and drive to Coorg. On arrival, check in a hotel. The rest of the day is at your leisure to explore the surroundings of your own till the overnight stay at Coorg.
After breakfast, proceed on for a day long visits starting with Talakaveri. It is point of origin of Cauvery River in the Brahmagiri hills.
The places to visit are Onkareshwara Temple, Abbey Falls and Raja Seat atop the hill, a spot for watching the sunset.
Return to hotel for overnight stay.
After morning breakfast, check out for a 120 Kms drive in 3 hours to Mysore. On arrival in Mysore, check in a hotel and proceed on forenoon visits starting with Chamundi Hill.
On the top of the hill, watch 4.8m high statue of Nandi (the Bull Lord Shiva used to ride) and the statue of Mahishasura (demon king killed by goddess Chomunda).
Our next destination slated to visit is Maharaja Palace built in Indo-Saracenic architectural Style. The throne made of gold is on display here during Dusehra celebrations.
Late in the evening, we visit Brindavan Garden and Krishna Raja Sagar Dam after sunset when musical fountains and colored lights transform this place into a fairyland. Back to the hotel for overnight stay.
After morning breakfast, check out of hotel and drive to Bangalore. Break journey at Srirangapatnam en-route to visit Island Fortress of Tippu Sultan. Visit Tippu's summer Palace, Mosque, and Sriranganatha Temple.
On arrival at Bangalore, shop at M.G.Road and Brigade Road to the extent the time permits before you are transported to Airport/Railway station for journey back home or other destination.
